CONTACT We Care is one of a nationwide network
of crisis hotlines affiliated with CONTACT USA and, internationally, with Lifeline
International. It was founded in Westfield, New Jersey in 1975 to serve those
in various forms of crisis with reassurance and thoughtful attention to callers'
problems and needs. CONTACT volunteers go through rigorous training in listening
techniques and intervention procedures. Volunteers come from all walks of life
but share an interest in offering a compassionate ear to those in need.
